I can endorse Ian and Markus's enthusiasm for Francis Wheen's biography of Karl Marx, and would encourage visitors to London to include a trip to the (old) British Library on their itinerary.  Other than that, I could expand on the time(s) I 've had my wallet stolen, and speculate wildly about the possible sound of other people's hifi, thus completing the loop.
