Mint condition and boxed. Pukka UK amps. Previously belonged to Tony @ Coherent Systems. Heavily modified by him so crammed full of Bybees at huge expense!

Used a monoblock amps (bridged, the only way to use them really)

    Price reduced
    Now £2,200 pair.

    Please PM if interested.

New price. The mods made by Tony take these amps into another league over the standard ones (which I had before). When bridged they are also better than the Ref 1000s IMO.

The mods to these alone cost IRO £1500 for each amp. These are a bargain and will challenge anything this side of £15k

    Amps

I don't know when they were originally bought - I will get serial numbers tonight and try to find out from that (or postmark on boxes).

I believe the mods concentrate solely on inserting Bybee devices wherever possible i.e. where there is a wire or important PCB track (these things absorb stray EMR, see www.bybeetech.com). They are about $90 each! I don't think the spec. as such will be affected i.e. power output will be the same, though I would expect S/N ratio to be much lower.

Perhaps Tony (wadia-miester) may be kind enough to say exactly what was done (if he can remember).

I had brand new standard amps before these, and the sonic differences were HUGE (yes, they were fully run-in). Most obviously in dynamic range - they sound much more powerful and in control as the background is pitch black, the "quietest" amps I have heard. They also sound much more natural and relaxed compared to standard too.

I'm in Chester, but work in Gloucs occasionally if any nearer to you

    Thanks for that,

I am very interested but having just agreed a deal on an SME turntable. A shortage of funds mean the max I could offer would be £2,000. That is assuming that all is in perfect working order and there are no significant cosmetic marks on either casing.

Just to add to the above. I've heard these power amps running several times. The only amps I've heard that I preferred were some stupidly expensive Wavac units. Those BCs really are ace, and if I had the spare cash, I'd be buying them myself. Infact I was so impressed that I swapped over all my old Naim kit to a cheaper version, i.e. the BC integrated. I've still yet to come across anything else in it's price range that I prefer.

I agree 100% and if I had more more than £2k I would offer it. Maybe at the end of the month if they are still available I will have a bit more cash.

The later post asks for close offers. To me, that means £50 off to cover petrol, or postage costs.

They are very cheap at this price. I will leave them for sale for a few more days, if they don't sell by then I'll keep them.

I was going to make another offer, but if £50 off is the best you can do I think I will pass. But best of luck in finding a buyer.
