    Oh, whoops
I am wrong, James is a doctor who specialises in livers, therefore he knows everything about vibration and its transmission:ffrc:

What is the main source of vibration in a Mana stand?

Simply because Mana has one of the more obvious effects on the tonal balance of a system.

I'm not going to get into a debate about the product as it seems it is about to become a piece of audiophilia's past, but I am far from the only one to hear this.

What absolute nonsense: no hi-fi stand could ever possibly alter the tonal balance.

It's very easy to disprove, BTW.

Sorry, I refuse to discuss such an absurd topic. I finally draw the line.

We've had some pretty wacky ideas on this forum: audible slowing of TT platters because of variations in stylus drag being the weirdest up until now.

Go and have a good long think about how Mana (or any other stand you like) can shift the tonal balance.

No come on, prove it! You said it was easy - or are you really just full of hot air?

You are the one claiming an effect, it's therefore up to you to prove it.

    Au Contraire,

I simply agreed with a number of previous posters. It was you who posted the above. All I'm asking is that you actually do what you say you can. It should be easy according to you, so come on!

so what you're saying is that an LP12 on a sideboard will sound exactly the same as an LP12 on Mana?

    think about it. ;)

This is getting absurder by the post. Sounding different does not imply a shift in the tonal balance.

Having thought about it, since one cannot prove a negative, I can't disprove it, after all. There is no onus on me to disprove someone else's insane theories, however.

Strong evidence that Mana doesn't alter the tonal balance is provided by my system, and some of the people who have listened to it. I am on very friendly terms with the resident pianist at the RSNO, and she lives a few doors up the hill from me. She's lent/given me a CD of hers, and I've played it to her. She thought it sounded amazing. I asked her if she thought that there was any tonal shift (this Mana-tonal-shift rumour has been doing the rounds for a long time, now). Can you guess the rest?

That's two consecutive "so what you are saying" posts. Neither of them is what I am actually saying.

Mana makes a difference, but not to the tonal balance.
