    OK, where do you live?

You can't prove that God doesn't exist, but that's far from saying that God must exist.

South East - just outside London.

Question. Grand Prix Audio claim similar energy dispertion characteristics for their racks. To prove this, they attach a meter to the rack and measure vibration scientifically. Why couldn't Mana have done that? Have you ever done it? If not try it, I suspect you will find the frequencies where it rings like a bell.

as far as I can see, any passive component cannot add anything to the sound. it can only take it away.

if the stand removes external rumble which would otherwise be heard through the speakers then as far as my definition of tonal balance goes then the lowest frequencies have been attenuated, thereby altering the tonal balance by reducing bass.

if, as others claim, the stand is projecting mid-range, it can only be doing so by reducing all the other frequencies. therefore it cannot be tonally neutral.

I don't own Mana, have never heard Mana, nor can I give a stuff about whether it is good/bad/ugly/indifferent/overpriced/bargain.

given that some people have put their TTs directly on their wooden floors after using Mana and claim it sounds no different, I have to wonder why there is such a polarisation regarding ugly angle-iron. the same isolation effect can be had by two slabs of concrete and a partially inflated bicyle inner tube.

A stand which failed to vibrate would be useless (and impossible). Mana is designed to vibrate, that's how it works.

I don't see the relevance. I don't think you understand how a hi-fi stand can reduce vibration in a vibrating object placed upon it.

It's actually very simple. A inert (non-resonant) stand cannot possibly have vibrational energy transferred into it, since by definition, it cannot vibrate.

It's obviously impossible to construct such a stand.
