    Hello there, first post!

Having a wee issue with my setup, I have a brand new LG C4 oled and a new Google tv streamer and an older Yamaha RX v667.

I'd like to play some stuff in 4k if I can. What happens is that if I connect the Google 4k streamer to the TV I get 4k content and TV speakers doing the sound.... if I connect it to the receiver I get av sound but in 1080p only.

I think the amp can't pass 4k content which is fine, it was a bit before it's time, but surely the TV can just output the sound via a bog standard hdmi cable to the amp if one connects the google streamer to it?

It's not working, all this stuff about Arc, which to my eye isn't much to do with it, Arc would be needed if I connected the streamer to the receiver? Also the forums talk of connecting the other end of an arc cable to hdmi out, which can't be right?
I do have Arc but it enabled on av inputs only so optical is the only option (however this doesn't work either)

Or am I getting the wrong end of the stick?

Can this amp work as needed or is there a replacement required :(

    Many, many thanks!

It sounds like your AVR doesn't have ARC, just run the toslink out from TV to AVR and you will get Dolby Digital at least/PCM
