I'm sure I remember seeing a guy do this on the Paul Daniels magic show about 15 odd years ago. Just freaky! That's some knowledge of classical music.

I'll be impressed when he can do it with a CD.

Seriously though... that's impressive and yet sad at the same time...

I remember seeing that too :) Blew me away...

Wouldn't it just be easier to read the label though?? ;)

When he can do it with REAL music like breakbeat white labels, rock and pop, I'll be impressed though - classical's "easy" due to the huge dynamics and large sections of almost-music-free content (the quiet bits - not ALL of the music; contrary to popular belief I don't totally LOATHE classical - I just don't remember most of it!)

    penance,
remember that before binge drinking on a saturday night became the national pastime the stars of saturday night (daniels, monkhouse, tarby, forsythe, et al) were kings and millions sat down to watch. then someone invented alcopops and cheap lager and everyone decided to go out of a saturday, get wankered, eat a kebab, have a fight and then hose down the pavement with urine and the aforementioned kebab before staggering home and scratching the paint around the doorlock for 1/2 an hour.
ahhh for those halcyon days of the 70's and early 80's.
    cheers

I was thinking that may have been a little on the optimistic side:D

Clearly this was in the days before channel surfing with the remote. So would have Juliet Bravo been on afterwards?

Nah - I watched Debbie Magee (sp?) - I'd not mind entrance to her magic circle ;)

This was about 1985 when the records thing was on; I wasn't allowed to stay up late on Saturdays (well, could watch the A Team etc) but the Paul Daniels show, The price is right, Bullseye etc were all on in my allotted "time window" so it can't have been on much earlier than '85.

85 - the year of the crap "I've just got a new television" microwave jokes and the infamous Cannon and Ball "beach in 3 minutes" ragging the crap out of a Sierra sketch - he he...

    BTW - excellent post, Julian!!!

Ooh I dunno in the early eighties binge drinking on a Saturday night was my pastime (and every other teenager on Stevenage High Street as well if memory serves) only it was pints of Abbott, not alcopops and saveloy and chips, not kebabs. It was better than watching the crap on the telly after all :D
