I finally descided that my hifi sounded perfect. Not one area could be improved on. Then my brain wonders "well this has been my hobby for years, what can i do now my hifi works?"

Dam that thought, turn my hifi on this morning, left speaker is silent!

    **** **** ****.

    Any suggestions?

Take chewing gum out of left ear and transfer to right - does the problem swap to the right speaker?

silly question, have you tried swapping them round?

cables or amp are most likely culprits IMO

    No Worries.

    It was the usual problem.

Internal fuses gone on the amp.

It just has not happened since I moved to York...much.

Does anyone Know why the fuses would go so much? I mean its a BIG amp (200w) that runs quite hot but it used to go every couple of weeks. It happened so often i used to run the amp with the lid off for quick swops.

Either way problem fixed, if not for the fuses then I would have been trying the chewing gum method.

Good you got it fixed. When I saw the title of the topic I assumed it would be another Chapter in "Cantilever Tales".

Does the amp require slow blow fuses (the giveaway is the 'T' in the fuse designation)?

Normal fuses won't last long if slow blow are needed.

If they are slow blow and you have fitted slow blow, you could try a *slightly* higher rated fuse.

Excuse me if you know this already.
