I have recently contacted Tony (WM) regarding digital front end opgrades. Not only have I found him to be extremely knowledgable but also very fair and honest. Infact some of his ideas for my systems will not earn him a penny - yet he still made these suggestions.

So at the risk of this being a kiss-ass post I just wanna say:

    Thanks Tony

I think WM is alright as well... He has pretty much heard it all, but still his recommendations should always be verified with your own ears. :MILD:

Tony's a nice guy, if a little misguided.

IME/IMO Tony is a true enthusiast and nice guy.

At the end of the day, as with music, hi-fi is subjective. What one person likes or considers ideal, another would dislike and not rate well. There is no one way of reaching hi-fi Nirvana (sorry Bub). In this regard of course Tony's suggestions and recommendations will not suit everyone. But they will suit some people perfectly and they are offered with the genuine wish to help and assist.

I've never found Tony to push his own wares, in contrast I have found him to offer his time and advice with nothing to gain other than the desire to help you improve your hi-fi experience and to chew the fat whilst listening to some great sounds.

I rate his opinion highly, he is a real music lover (which is what it's all about afterall) and he's not one for petty squabbles.

    Thumbs up!
    Greg

Yes and he even tolerates my constant barrage of questions and brutal cross examinations on audio topics!

Having met Tony on a few occasions I concur that he is a most amiable enthusiast and all round nice bloke.

In fact I keep meaning to contact him about some spkr and pwr cables.

    Oh he was misguided alright...

On the way to my place last week he ended up in Watford!

Never again, eh Tone??! :D ;)

Seriously though, I concur with the above, enthusiastic and very knowledgable about hifi, and a great bloke to boot.

Oh, and his little box of tricks manage to work some magic on even my humble Naim system :)

    Cheers,

    Jon

Deserves kudos for offering to host a blind listening experiment with hi-fi power cables including, as I understand, his own. More balls than most.

Regrettably said test seems to have stalled for the moment because of a lack of volunteer listeners able to take part. Details below if anyone is interested. :)
