I've recently made a few upgrades to my ageing.

However, I've currently only got 2 USB ports (USB1) and with printer, scanner, MOdem, mp3, digital camera.......

I plan on changing to a wireless keyboard & MOuse soon too, which I believe tend to use USB too?

So, can I add MOre? Ideally I'd like about 6.

You just need to buy a USB hub - widely available at all online computer stores (Scan, ebuyer, oiverlcockers etc), and I'm sure PC World would have them as well.
You can either buy a pci card version - which plugs into the motherboard inside the case and the ports are then on the back, or you can buy an external one which simply plugs into one of your existing usb ports and then gives you a load more usb ports in a little box which you can place where you like.

I would buy a USB 2.0 PCI card, you can get them for less than £10 and it means you can use more modern devices at full speed rather than the cripeled USB 1 speed.

You can get PS/2 wireless keyboard and mice :) I prefer them.

Simply because they don't use up USB ports and PS/2 ports are only useful for keyboard and mice.

The other problem with USB is on older machines they are useless in DOS and in the BIOS.

You know with PS/2 it will work without messing about with USB drivers and such like.

The only thing I will say about USB is that if you want a very high resolution on your mouse I am not sure if PS/2 can handle the increased data rate.

be careful with hubs - some peripharals don;t like them - in particular i've had problems with external drives and dvd roms.
just a heads up. if you do get a hub get a powered one at the very least.

I tried to add a usb 2.0 card to my old P111. The motherboard did not like it at all. I had to remove it. If you go for a hub, I would suggest a powered one as it is more likely to work with a greater range of periferals.
