I know of a person who just goes up to girs in clubs and says "any sex on offer tonight" 9 out 10 ten times he gets a slap, 1 out 10 he gets sex. This is all very well but it will soon get you the reputation of being a sex pest.

Hehe, nope, he is just a person I know off, I have never met him. He does this in clubs in Sheffield.

 

I know a few guy on direct dating that get a few hits, depends if your after sex or a possible relationship.

Having tried my luck on many of these I'd say www.udate.com is a better bet, more targeted searches.

Udate seems OK but these dating services cost too much for what they are IMHO. Same with speed dating.

That said - keep me posted Paul, 'cos I'm in a similar situation. NEED to get my 3-years-ex out of my head! Was working on this yesterday and Friday, but my, err, skills need work!

 

Obviously there's plenty of people out there who aren't who they might say they are, but I think the majority will be genuine.

I've known of people to use these and similar services to meet people, both purely for fun, and also for something MOre serious.

The whole geeky/desperate stereotype is unfair and untrue IMO. Not always but often.

I've not used them to meet someone myself, but know of people who use myspace to meet people.

www.okcupid.com is one I once registered on after being sent a link to some of their "tests". You have to register (free) to do them. But I can't comment on actually meeting people through it.

 

I'm not dissing people who use dating sites...I've a couple of friends who have used them. But after having a quick look at adultfriendfinder at work I closed it quick because it just looks like a site to try and get no strings sex, hence my original post!

 

A mate of mine met his fiance through the net. Some sort of uni contact thing, not really sure. But they've been together for quite a few years now.

Another friends sister is now happily married and bringing up a child with a guy she met originaly online.

I also know of a guy who now lives in Australia married and two kids with an australian girl he first met online.

 

you still have to use dating skills to get people on these sites...its not just a case of a click here and there. i've met one girl through ok cupid. Smoked a bit too much for my liking so she didn't last long

 

Hehe yep for me smoking is the biggest turn off ever, she could be Kylie Minogue but if she smokes I would rather have Jade Goodey.
