A friend of mine is opening a restaurant in London soon.

    The venue has two floors.

He wants to use an IPOD as a source for music but is wondering how to cover both floors with the same IPOD e.g. wants to be able to feed the IPOD into two amps

Is there a cool way to do this, maybe using an external dac or preamp?

Given the choice I'd elect to go to a restaurant that does not play music.

Connect the second integrated amp to the tape loop output of the first integrated amp

yeh of course it's do-able, he could just bounce the signal upstairs with a transmitter plugged into a tape out on one amp and input on the other.

pick your weapon, theres plenty of signal senders for wireless hifi.

Simplest solution might be to just use a y-split cable out of the ipod directly into both amps. I'm sure maplin would supply something suitable

    Hi

a good way to do this is to buy two cheapish surround sound amps that way you can run more than 4 speakers off each and idividually ajust the level of each speaker. If you use 5 channel stereo mode then the same signal will run through each speaker. The second amp should be be connected to the tape out or pre out of the first amp. That way you can control the volume individually on both floors.

We have a system like this where I work (large photographic studio) and it works very well, especially as we have a variety of different speakers with different sensitivities.

The wireless idea for the second second amp is a good one, although the past when I had a wireless transmitter for a TV it was suseptable to interferance especially from microwaves. The best solution would be an interconnect.

    Hope this helps
