Both products designed by Charles Altmann, and what he doesn't know about jitter is probably not worth knowing.

See: http://www.jitter.de/english/engc_navfr.html and read the articles.

HiFi News tested the UPCI in the Sept.2003 issue with startling results. The JISCO test is apparently coming in the Oct issue which may already be out but, being in Portugal atm I haven't seen it yet.

    Anyone here used them... ?

$500 in fact (well, €500) shipping included. So, the "something else" would be your P1A?

Looking forward the HiFi News write up of the JISCO - seems like it uses an interesting approach to getting rid of jitter by err......creating a load of high frequency jitter

Why do you think you need that, I thought the DAC64 eliminates jitter... :p

Mike, it's not a new way of dealing with jitter by adding more dither, just a different twist and it works well :) the some thing else is not the P1-A, which will be leaving soon :) WM

Antonio, we just did this on the CdA :) I'm not about to buy one of those things. I've already got something similar - my Monarchy upsampler/de-jitterer :)

Just thought they were interesting products worth a mention.

They look like something a plumber would fit to a radiator.

The JISCO got a good review in HiFi news, but only if used with the jitter reduction device - i.e. to get a benefit you need to buy both of them.

It also appears to improve the sound of 'jitter impervious' sources even though there is little measurable effect. I guess, as with all audio kit, you've got to try it yourself, in your own system, to see if you can hear an improvement - only then would it be a wise investment.

Are they made of gold or something? Bit pricey for a tiny wee plastic box.

I agree - especially if you go the recommended route and use both. That's €1000 you're talking about

in keeping with the tone of this forum over the past week or so i feel duty bound to make the statement that both of these devices are utter bollocks. of couse i am making this statement from a position of complete ignorance and therefore this opinion cannot be swayed by logic.

    cheers
