who doens't want the olympics in london?

Would you believe what the london bid team tried to bribe the ioc with, source todays telegraph?

free return flights for 10,500 athletes
    free accomodation for the families
free rail travel 2 weeks before and after
    free telephone calls
discoutn vouchers for shops, restaurants and theatres.

and there is no cash in the country? all paid for by the london council taxpayer.they ought to challenge the legality, that's not what council tax is for, to give money for pet ideas.

    I think that's disgusting.fortunately it went wrong.

I think it's an excellent idea. I don't have to live there :D

If everyone goes to London to see the Olympics, it'll be nice and quiet down here

Guys can we make sure that we don't print things that may be construed as racist, thanks. Levi I've moderated your post as it falls into that category whether you meant it that way or not.

The fools - surely the sweeteners should be offered to the IOC committee!

I don't see this as a bribe, without also having to call offering to pay the purchase price also a bribe. If it is all above board and permitted in IOC rules, that's the question IMHO
