amp for b&w 601 s3

    as title i just go these speakers and am looking for an amp to do them justice, how much am i looking to spend and any suggestions, will go second hand probs

    No real suggestions but i used to own a set of these speakers and they're very good for the money but the tweeter can get a little harsh when pushed hard so you should be looking for an amp with a smooth top end.
    I had mine on the end of a marantz pm6010ose and found the combination good at normal sound levels but they got a bit hard & brittle when cranked up.
    You're best off getting a home demo so you can have some proper relaxed time to form an opinion on the kit you're trying in familiar surroundings rather than sitting in a dem room on limited time.

    I'd personally try the budget models from Rotel, Arcam, Cambridge Audio and Nad but there's plenty more out there...

    I heard these with a Quad 99 / 909 and were kept in check if not a little neutral.

    See if you can find a Classe DR25 or Macintosh Amp used. Great synergy with B&W. On the less expensive side the Marantz Recievers do it justice as well
