I am looking for information on what to look for when driving a pair of Stax headphones.

All of my gear is in storage and it was driving me nuts not having anything decent to listen to. I recently bought pair of old Stax Lambda Headphones, with the Stax SRD-7 SB Energiser.

I would prefer a small valve amp, either a power or an integrated (I have a CDP with variable output).

Would one of the Chinese produced amps work with this this combination?

Anybody heard off an amp called the Music Angel, KT 88's

I didn't think you needed an amp for Stax headphones? You just plug your source into the energizer.

That's true for the modern energisers but not some of the early ones unfortunately, including the SRD-7SB:
