Amplifier upto 1k

    to run Harbeth SHL5s - will isten to any suggestions :)

    been using a little Leben CS300 which is struggling a bit with bass control and drive at slightly higher volumes so nothing underpowered really - i guess i need 25w+ to get them bouncing along happily - a Sugden a21a drove them ok, if a little soft on leading edges and a little light in the bass.

    Have you thought about maybe trying a Quad 303?

    not really Andy, i know nowt about Quad stuff. In fact i actually `gave' one of those away last year! along with the schematic and original maunal etc!

    Oh Yeah I vaguely remember you asking a few questions about it.

    You just never know it might be what you have been looking for. I know logistically its not easy but I have a 33 and and 303 here that have both been fully serviced, if you can sort out the logistics of getting them to Stoke and back you are welcome to borrow them for a try out on your Harbs

    Steve - did you see the monster ADCOM stack on WW for £500ish? That ought to do it....

    I've heard the old muscle amps can be surprisingly refined, though that setup is as big a a block of flats...
