This little device by Jan Meier looks quite interesting I think, although I dont know anyone who's tried it, but even so, it seems like a fairly good idea given that people often try to achieve an "analogue" sound from their CD player....

    Any comments?

I reckon it sounds like a pretty good idea TBH, and at the cost it is, its something that may be worth trying in the future if I've got a few quid going spare :)

I think that interest would be generated if someone had one of these devices and if it worked. Until then it's just more snake oil to most.

There are a couple of standalone accounts on headfi that suggest that the analoguer at least, does work, removing glare from the treble and fleshing out the bass a bit, making it sound closer to an analogue like recording. Maybe I will try one out one day, since headphone listening especially can often do with a bit of fleshing out...

Is an analoquer anything like a Musical Fidelity "Missing Link", I've seen loads of these, and always been interested to know what they were all about. Any ideas?

Sorry Jimmy I've never heard of the missing link. In fact the whole concept of an analoguer is new to me too. However, it does make references to WADIA in that link, so perhaps that does something similar internally...
