I haven't read all of that link you just gave but are your dots not meant to work on the principals of Feng Shui, not resonance damping? I think only one type of these dots needs to be aware of acoustic theory

On the note of Feng Shui, complementary colours are supposed to create balance of the energy in a room. Red on the left and green on the right supposedly, so if you try colouring the dots on the left of your room red and the ones on the right side green you may get improved sound!
