A bored afternoon, so I thought I'd mosey on over to the vinyl LP section of ebay and what do I find?? A couple of idiots have completely stuffed the listintgs with thousands of "Buy It Now" singles, effectively making it unusable. I found two culprits, one of whom seems to have listed over 2000 items in one go!! ... and another who has listed over 27,000 items !!!! (yes that is the correct number of zeros). Strangely all the listings are in a currency called NT$ - any ideas what that?

Two things spring to mind -

    1) What do these arseholes think they are playing at?
    2) I'd hate to see their ebay bills.

Yes,the records are always ful of the seller pricing in NT$,I doubt they worry about thier bills the prices they charge,I never buy from these type of sellers. There was another guy listed as in the UK,IE the goods are in the UK,priced in $,then wanted an extra 17.5VAT on final price, even though it was already in the UK.

Well frankly I don't give a hoot about their bills either, but with one seller listing 27,000 items, most of which don't even belong in the LP classification and most of which aren't auctions either, it makes it nye on impossible to find anything which isn't listed by these morons. I'm not happy

What the hell is an NT$ anyways?

This seems to have started two or three weeks ago, when the level was annoying, but didn't make it unworkable, now its got so out of hand that its practically impossible to use.

I believe NT$ is Hong Kong Dollars. There are lots of electrical goods on eBay listed in NT$ as well, and they all seem to be located there.

If you set up an advanced search U can subtract all 'auctions' that belong to the two users in question. Then U will only see all the rest. eBay lets U save searches, a very handy feature at times like this!

    NT$ are New Tawain dollars

It appears that high volume sellers in UK and USA are now registering with ebay in Taiwan which is subject to much lower listing fees and is perfectly legit, at the moment anyway.

Aha - it starts to make sense. Frankly I hope something gets sorted out because in the space of a few weeks its made this particular section of ebay (unfortunately one of my favourites) pretty unusable. Wouldn't be so bad if they at least were a little more selective in which category they listed things.

A few weeks ago the total no of items listed under LPs was around the 35,000 mark and had been for months going back. Suddenly its at over 70,000 and I can only assume that the difference is alkl down to these high volume sellers. The real problem is that they list vast numbers of items all with auctions expiring at the same time, so you get pages and pages of the bloody stuff.
