Yesterday I got an Apogee Wide-Eye A/C, terminated with silver Audioquest RCAs...

It is a reasonable priced professional digital cable, terminated by my hifi dealer...

I used it between the FMJ DV27 and the TAG AV32R DP, it is brand new, still it worked quite well:

I found the sound more natural, bass even better controlled, voices more coherent, lower, nicer timbre, highs detail improved too, I got shivers listening to each "hair" on the brushes scratching the cymbals...

Maybe be WM was right about the Siltech after all... :respect:

Antonio, It doesn't really matter what I think, it's what you feel that the Cable does for you mate, I'm glad you are finding more out of your system cheers WM

Are we talking the wyde eye ?

This is cable that cost about $38 ? as far as I can see....

The apogee page is intresting but one or two oddments stand out
They stress the wide contact the Plugs make....well sorry but thats a disadvantage, otherwise the bullets wouldnt sound so good.

A new thicker purple jacket .....come on thats cluching at straws.

    Talk about cable Hype.

I've nothing against the cable and I'm certain it's as good as you say and will probabley get better as it burns in.

Lowrider I have to appologise that I've not got back to you about borrowing an Isotrans. You'll have to bear with me on this one ! I've got a few family problems that need to be sorted first ...Parents who'd have them !!

Yes it is the Wide-Eye A/C, and it is not an impressive high price audiophile cable for sure... :p

On the contrary it is cheap, and the only digital cable from Apogee, maker of some of the best digital professional gear, if you look the net there are only good comments about it, but none on audiophile forums...

It was my hifi dealer, who uses it on audioshows and home, that made one for me with the said Audiquest silver RCAs, not the original stuff, he thinks it is the most "correct" digital cable, regardless of price, he doesn't sell it, of course, as he can make a lot of money on the high-end ones... ;)

By the way, have you looked at the jitter performance figures, they probably make all the difference, not many cable makers even have the gear to measure it... :MILD:

Tis very True Antonio, quite a lot don't, But then quiet a lot don't produce measurement software for the industry either :)
However, the best piece of software is the most natural YOUR Ears, I know it's a strange concept, but the thing is We Do, or at least Timpy does, when he not bleating about missed speaker oppotunities :D WM

You are right again, I was just answering Zanash... ;)

I didn't even know the brand, let alone the specs, when I took them home last night, only today, after listening, did I look for it on the net... :MILD:

    Hum...

just read a ittle more on the web page....not really certain what to make of it it looks a mix of facts and measurements, with an equal quantity of bullpooh. Which is a pity if the product is good, its bound to put a few/lot of people off the product.

I agree with WM one of the best scientific instraments you can get are the flappy things attached to the side of our heads. I can normally tell with in a few bars if there's been an improvment....takes longer to work out what the improvment might be though.

Strange what happens when you take a few boxes and cables into work, and hey presto the algorythym on the test system suddenly drop a few points, only problem is when you take it away again Timpy tends to sulk

    Zanash,

That statement out of context does sound like BS, but if you read properly :p , they mean: although it looks the same as the previous cable, (same colour), it has been improved...

It is professional gear, no nonsense audiophile marketing... :MILD:

    Timpy,

    I had Siltech HF-7S...
