Right then its about time we had one of these again..... ;) I'm off to the states tomorrow and am thinking about buying an Ipod whilst over there to take advantage of the excellent exchange rate. I have a number of questions that I would like to get answers on first though. the 20Gb model says it stores 5000 songs, I'm guessing this is achieved using 128 AAC and roughly 3 mins in length per song? Is 128 AAC an ok format for general listening on the move and in car use? I plan to get the cassette adaptor as my Jeep has no cd player If I rip to ACC what format is left on my PC? I take it this is proprietary to Apple and therefore not open to routing via the hard disk solution used by Julian et al? Can you get a digital out option on the sync station so that I have the possibility to run it straight into my main system? anything else I should know, apart from the headphones are crap and may get me mugged in the less desirable parts of town. I plan to get some of those Sony in-ear jobs that a few people here use. Thanks Oh, and anybody know of a good Jazz cd store in Chicago?
