I have recently downloaded Itunes onto my PC (got fed up with Musicmatch's unreliability) but can't get it to recognise my Ipod as a source. Any suggestions ?

when you say as a source do you mean your trying to take the songs off your ipod into itunes? You can't do that, look up 'copypod' on google.

ipod doesn't appear in itunes ?
what does it say on the ipod screen ? just charging ?
does hotplugging it via usb recognise that the ipod has been added ?

btw the simplest way i've found of keeping control of what is on the ipod itself is to create a dedicated playlist purely for the ipod. you can set itunes to use a particular playlist for the ipod. then any changes to that playlist, i.e. additions or removals (which are modifications to that playlist, not to the library as a whole) will automatically be reflected on the ipod when u connect. i.e. additions to the ipod playlist will be transferred across, and deletions from the ipod playlist will be deleted from the ipod.
