I,ve gathered a few if his CD's over the years,I enjoy most of his stuff, but almost all the CD's I have are very poor recordings
I found this at HMV yesterday " Neil Young live & unplugged"
wow this is by a mile the best recorded CD he has done
most of his best tracks performed live, real live atmosphere
so good I had play the CD through twice back to back
a must have if your a fan

Poor recordings? Have you got Tonight's the Night or Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere?

Most aren't poorly recorded but do have very little in the way of production, so you get a warts and all recording. It's part of his charm...

My turntable days ended just over 2 decades ago
can't say I miss them really, found them a pain in the arse even then,
quite happy with CD's thanx, find the right digital combi and the trade off IMHO is well worth the convenience of a remote control
but each to there own of course

Agree. Recording sort of follows his antihero status.

Try 'On the Beach' (my fav), which seems one of his better productions. It got re-released in a remastered version (in '03) that sounds remarkably fresh and clear.
