Sad and brutal story... So many ruined lives. I have worked with some folk that have done some shocking things. I have never met or worked with anyone that has done shocking things to whom shocking things have not been done - usually at a critical point in their development. Deeply sad.
A journalist askesd a neighbour "How long have you known Fritzles daughter Alice.?." "Alice? Who the **** is Alice? "You mean for 24 years I've been living next door to Alice?"
Well, yes, I guess some people could be said to be naturally evil. A long debate... What we used to call psycopaths, now called sociopaths, are by some considered to make up 1% of the population. And many of them, it has been suggested, are 'functioning sociopaths' and possibly occupy positions of power... hard to be sure about ill intent as an inborn trait - in some sense, we all have the capability but other things step in the way.
