Possible but not easy, you'd have to find a dac compatible with the same digital input data lines as the one fitted, probably also adjust the output section to suit.
I don't know if theres a better grade chip which is pin compatible , probably not

It would be easier to add an external dac using SPDIF

Hmm ok but the A-8000 has no optical out just coaxial or analogue or can one be fitted ?

Might try a little dot DAC

Co-axial and optical is spdif (just a different way of sending it), obviously you'll have to make sure the dac you try has the option of co-ax input, if not theres little boxes available which wil convert co-axial to optical

If you like the sound of the player as is I wouldn't bother;)

    Hello Fellow Hifi Enthusiasts,

I have purchased the Bewitched A8000 CD player which is a variant of the Pure Sound A8000 CD player.

I was a bit foolish and purchased it on the Bay for 270 pound sterling.

It sounds fine and like many CD players, an external DAC improves the sound quality.

How crap (so to speak) is the Bewitched to the Pure Sound version?

    Worth doing some upgrades?
