I would be most grateful for a synopsis of the Teac AI-3000 review.

Nobody reading HiFi Choice anymore? Anyhow, finally managed to find the review by Jason Kennedy for download. He noticed an open and relaxed, soft, smooth, and sweet sound but surprisingly with excellent timing. Somewhat loose lower bass. The little brother of the AI-3000, the AI-2000, was recently reviewed by Fairaudio, a German site with links to 6moons. They praised the open and relaxed sound as well but also the very deep but nicely controlled bass. Maybe Kennedy had a mismatch with the speakers in use. I like the feature set of these amps, the AI-2000 is very interesting indeed. Strangely, it seems a very similar amp is offered by Music Hall - the a70.2.

Differing review findings are not uncommon.

The amplifier appears to be of very good spec which means it will be completely transparent, therefore so long as your aren't overdriving it, it will sound just like the source feeding it. Soft, sweet, smooth, relaxed etc - this is just reviewer speak and completely meaningless when testing well designed electronics.

If you like it (and it does look like good kit) stop worrying and buy it.
