Give Dave at DK loudspeakers a call he is in Essex just off the M25. He has just fixed a couple of 10" Dynaudio Drivers for me for £54. each

I blew the bass driver of a Goodmans RB35 speaker. I tend not to listen to bass-heavy music or any sort of loud music, so I'm not sure how I managed that. I put an ad in the local newsagents offering them free to anyone who would collect them. A huge black guy turned up and picked up the two heavy floorstanders as if they were mini-monitors.

    That's a real bummer Dev.
£140 !!I'd check the pricing with Tannoy.
Lockwood will do an excellent job but AFAIK Tannoy fix the cone kit prices, that seems a little high. Re-coning is a doddle btw.
I blew 4 3833G cones in one go 18 months ago and nearly cried you have my sympathy.:(

That's the thing I'd be worried about, if it was me. Would getting it coned more cheaply elsewhere be to the same standard as Lockwoods?

...and the driveway. I Daresay Tannoy are not acquainted with the ragamuffin stylee of music, I can't picture the Queen skanking!

I have never had any problems with DK loudspeakers. Hifi World gave a 2 page write up a few years ago on Dave Smith. I have used him on a few things and have no problem recommending him. His results have always been top notch. He will also say if he cannot do it.

Hi guys, As Andy pointed out this happened nearly 3 years ago. I found Roger from Lockwood very helpful, he knew his Tannoys well. It 's still painful though. On the plus side they sound great IMO.
