When I first heard their two albums I just put them on in the background and they sounded much like any other emo / alternative metal band. However, once I sat down and listened properly I really, really started to love it!

Their first album; Dream To Make Believe, isn't that special to be honest. It is a very nice album but much like any other in the genre.

their second album; What to Do When You Are Dead, is a master piece!! It's hard to describe to just have a listen. Its like really good emo, alternative metal, rock with Pink Floyd production on it. It even has a Great Gig In The Sky style section at the end! The recording is pretty good as well, though they shouldn't have pushed the levels so high in the mastering as the kick lacks a bit of punch. ..lol thats a funny description!

Just take a listen to What To Do When You Are Dead. Even if you don't like emo give it a try, its very contrasting.

Just taken a listen on Allmusic sounds pretty much standard to me. Didn't stand out enough for me to buy one of there cd's, maybe i'm missing something.

I think its the sort you need to listen to as an album. It is still in the genre of emo / alternative metal sort of stuff but IMO it is just so much better done than say, The Used or Matchbook Romance etc.. which I find very monotonous.

Having said that, try the tacks - Basement Ghost Singing (I love that one), Car Underwater, Walking At Night Alone and A Quick Little Flight.

If you know lots of other stuff very similar to Armor For Sleep then let me know please!
