Not really. There are tweaks, and then again there are tweaks. There's a world of difference. :MILD:

Rubbing hand cream on CDs? Bloody hell, get a grip mate!

Next you'll be parading about in front of the mirror in a pair of your wife's knickers.

So pretty much any opaque substance that can be smeared on will work then will it?

...Right where's those Pink Floyd CD's....I've wanted to do this for years-absolutely f*cking years.

I hate to take the piss, but I'm curious how does one think of these tweaks? I.e. how can someone just wake up one day and say to him/herself that I'm going to apply some cream to my CD and see how that sounds?

Reminds me of a sketch in "Not The 9 O Clock News".

I think a lot depends on whether you sleep alone.....

I didn't have any hand cream so I used butter instead. ;)

I wonder how many 'knobs' of butter would you need? :D

larkrise, i have a pre-cut, cd-size sticky copper foil disc if you'd like to try that on one of your cd's.

I have just had a rather unfortunate accident. While liberally applying hand cream to my cd collection, one of the buggers slipped from my grasp. Due to the razor sharp edge created by the lathe, the cd cut into my hand. I think the ink from the green stop light pen that I had applied to the edge must have entered my blood stream. That, together with the vapour from the auric illuminator and cosmic rays from the room animator made by feel light headed. I slipped forward, knocking the cd player of it precarious mounting of oak cones. One of the shakti stones fell from the top of the cd player, hitting me on the head.

So a warning to you tweakers; take care or you may end up looking foolish

I have washed a CD in water and thought it was dry. I later played the CD in the CDP only to discover the next day the CD was broken thanks to a very small amount of water being spun off the disk as it rotated at high speed.

If you wish to try stuff that could render your cdp useless then fair enough but its only fair to warn others too that this "tweek" could do alot of damage.

    That's because I'm not neurotic.

Neurosis, noun, functional disorder in which obsessional thoughts dominate the personality.

Rubbing hand cream on one's CDs in an attempt to make them sound better is borderline mental illness, IMO.

Borderline? It's feckin' full-blown cuckoo land!

The gullibility of 'audiophiles' never ceases to amaze me.

Why not just go and set up a seperate forum for insulting people, and perhaps another for learning how to read forum members posts properly? Just an idea - hope it's not too radical!

As the Queen said - I'm orf!
