As part of my rebuild of the courier damaged OB1's, I have had to extract the Vifa drive units from the cabinets. I was a bit shocked at how "lightweight" they were when compared to the SCM35's. Especially the woofer and midrange.

But the OB1's are sounding great so I guess it's true that a speaker is more than the sum of it's parts.

If anyone is looking for a good deal on new SCM35's, I was in contact with William at Audio Salon and ATC have 5 pairs left at their factory.

ATC are prepared to sell them for £1350 incl. courier charges to anywhere in the UK.

Now that's a cracking deal and avoids all that eBay bidding c**p on ex-demo/2nd hand ones !

I have to say I think the new range looks very handsome in an understated way, much better than the "old" ones... anyone have prices yet?

I think the new AT range looks rather odd - a strange mix of a heavy price tag, mid-budget (or, rather, unimaginative) "home friendly" cosmetics and ugly studio proportions - 150s easily win the price for the ugliest froorstanders ever made by a human :)) It looks like a wardrobe.
