    Stepped attenuator HELP!!!

I have a Sumo ArtemisIII pre amp with stepped attenuator volume control, the problem is at some volume`s I seem to loose drive through the left hand channel if I click it up or down a notch back to normal both channels balanced, and there is not a set place in the volume range were it comes in, any help from the hifi wise would be a great help.

    Cheers Nankin

Sounds like either one switch position is dodgy, or one resistor is down.
Has it only just started? How old is the atenuator?

If you have a multi meter, yes.
You would need to check the switch positions and then the resistors.
