Having only previously heard the singles a mate had the album with them when they came over the other night. I've since kidnapped it and very good it is too! Will need few MOre listens before making a proper opinion, but it's deffo got a "stomping" quality to it. The obvious comparison is with The Streets, and if you liked Pirate Material you'll probably like this too.

Great name. Mind you, I thought Gay Dad was a great name as well, but the group were an utter shambles.

    Some favourite group names:

When People Were Taller And Lived Near the Water
    Bogshed
    Crispy Ambulance

You missed off Neds atomic dustbin!

Bill, i'd give it a go. Good no nonsense tunes. Bit late to play it now (and headphones are in other room), but will line it up to play when I wake. Hit play and start the day in style :D

my favorite daft band names have got to be the marvelous pairing of...
gay bikers on acid and their support act / alter ego's lesbian dopeheads on mopeds.

    cheers

The Neds rule - got Godfodder for £1 in MVE on vinyl and it brings back great memories - pure class!

How about Sheep on drugs? Apparently there's also an act called Goats don't do dope, though I've never seen that confirmed! S on D's "Greatest hits" (their FIRST album - he he!) is fantastic - you guys'd love it.

    What about:
    New fast automatic daffodils
    Butthole surfers
Our band sucks (YES - this REALLY exists - I bought it for a quid in MVE specifically to find out if they did - it's kind of cool - OBVIOUSLY felt-pen drawn cover, purple/white marble vinyl - very nice!)
Happy Mondays (how can a Monday be happy for freak's sake!?)
    Soundgarden (great name)
    Whitesnake (he he he)
    Morris Minor and the Majors
Lawnmower def (their version of Kids in America is great)
Sideburns johnnhy and the f***wits (my mate Paddy was in this band - Johnny played the piano, and Paddy, err, drummed, so he WAS the f***wits!).

yeah. and back to the music!

This really is a top album! If it doesn't make at least one part of your anatomy MOve you must be dead! I don't think i've ever used the word "stomping" in real life. However, it fits for this!

Not quite as lyricaly personal as the streets, but not far off. Bigger MOre full blown beats though and well worth a try for fans of Orig' Pirate Material.
