Purchased only 8 months ago and barely used. MINT condition.

The Audio Desk Systeme CD Sound improver is a unique motorized cutting device manufactured in Germany. It is designed to trim the edge of the CD to a 36° angle to reduce laser scatter–random reflections from the laser that negatively affect the precision of the laser reading the CD. The trimming also compensates for imprecisions in the manufacturing process, leaving the trimmed disc perfectly symmetrical and balanced so that the laser more easily tracks the disc without having to move back and forth constantly. The sensitive CD coating is NOT touched. The bevelled edge of the CD is further treated with a black marker to absorb additional misrouted laser light. The results are improved focus, definition, detail and transparency. The tuning of a CD with the Audio Desk CD Sound Improver is very easy and takes barely 1 minute. The hardened cutting blade (replaceable) cuts approximately 2,000 discs. The unit comes complete with full instructions, power cord, a black felt pen, a replacement drive belt, a cleaning brush and two blank CD's for testing purposes. Original box. 220 – 240 V. £200 plus p&p

“This is a “must have†product for anyone really interested in maximizing the potential of their CD/SACD collection. The price is reasonable and the construction and presentation of the product is outstanding. The results are simply quite staggering.† Richard Foster, HiFi+, Issue 44

IMO, the improvement varies from disc to disc and from system to system, but in general there is a definite improvement in the clarity, detail, definition and focus of the sound, as I said in my ad.

However, due to my preference for vinyl sound, the use I make of this device is VERY limited.

    Regards.

audiomusicphile - Where are you in Spain ?

I assume this is an item that one could use to 'treat' all your cd's then sell on - I too prefer the vinyl sound, but have a fairly large collection od cd's. I am also in Spain....South !
Would you be happy to do a couple of cd's for me so I can see if it works for me, and then discuss possible purchase..?

    Cheers

    Steve

Can't believe this is still for sale - biggest single improvement to CD listening pleasure on the planet! I've recently started playing vinyl - still think lathe treated Cds sound superb, even over most vinyl.

    Hi Steve,

    I am in Spain ... Northeast! :D

Of course I will be happy to do a couple de CD's for you so that you can see if the Audio Desk works for you.

In order to make a fair comparison, you simply have to make 2 identical copies of 2 CD's and send me a copy of each CD for 'treatment'.

    Regards.

I've tried the discs in a great many systems ...everytime the lathed disc sounded better than the uncut version....even those who heard the demo in the world audio room and the meridian rooms at the last heathrow show ...could clearly tell.

the world audio chaps were very perplexed !

take the 2000 cd with a pinch of salt ....I got 400 done, but its easy to get the blade re sharpened.
