    Hello,

Just out of curiosity, back in the 90s were Townshend Rock turntables a good match with the Audio Innovations S500 amp?

    Yes of course Shane.
A turntable doesn't care what amp you use.

    Hi,

I ran this combo in the late 80s. I used them with a pair of Snell J loudspeakers. Very good it was too!

    Very interesting.

Was it a Rock II, Or the Rock Reference?

Also, how does the Rock turntables sound with out the trough?

    Regards.

    Hi,

It was the Rock II. I had the Excalibaur arm & Merlin power supply.

The deck sounded good without the trough, very enjoyable.

The Rock works well in a number of systems.

The turntable often seen with Audio Innovation amps (and Snell speakers) was the Voyd, which certainly sounds quite different to the Rock.

rock turntables where very very good and would work with anything, they did a phone in on the radio one night with a rock turntable and a cd player can you guess which got the most votes ?
