I'm sure this has happened to a few people as it's a common gripe.

I've pulled another outer screen off of one of the rear RCA plugs on my 8000A.

Does anybody know of some better replacements for this amp that I can fit? One's with the same footprint?

Alternatively anybody know of a good fix for this problem? Haven't looked but I doubt you can solder them in place.

    Thank you.

I used normal panel mount RCA sockets to replace broken ones on an 8000A.
Fit them to the back panel, then if you take the bottom panel off the case you can get to the underside of the circuit board. I just linked them to the board with short lengths of copper wire.

    Nice one.

Cheers Penance. Were they Maplin jobbies or did you get them elsewhere?

Cool. I'll whip the lid off later so will have a better idea.

    Thank you.

HiFi Collective have some very nice looking silver plated
    RCA sockets .

I'm quite tempted by them myself .

Nice one. Thanks Zanash. Rapids are about a third of the price of Maplin.

I think I'm going to replace the whole rear panel with these:
