B&W 705 Speakers in maple finish - NO LONGER FOR SALE

I am raising funds for an upgrade (put another way, I have lost the ongoing "aesthetics argument" in the apartment  )

Therefore my B&W 705's are up for sale (see piccies below)

There are reviews all over the net from most of the mags on both sides of the pond, but if you're having trouble finding 'em, just let me know

They are 9 months old and have been looked after in the manner to which a 900 quid speaker bloody well should be.

Children have been flogged for going within 3 feet of them, the covers have hardly ever been off, nobody smokes in the apartment (not my rule - see a pattern?) and even our Polish cleaner dusts them with a delicacy much to be admired.

They are in perfect condition, and are boxed with all the original packaging, receipts, manuals, warranty card. Hell, I can even provide the taxi receipt back from the dealers!

They come with the balance of the B&W 5 year worldwide warranty

The price? 600 pounds to you, sir.

If you require further pics, just let me know.

    Cheers, Craig

if its a question of aesthetics - tell her to get rid of that awful chair/table/flower combo!

I think those speakers really suit the room meself.

its a sad state of affairs when the women in your life dictates what speakers you can and can't have in the house...

you should show her this thread too... ;)

I wouldn't care if they were black ash...

My last wife was like this, we ended up in such a minimilaist house it looked like it had been burgled!!

My current model is much more tolerant, in fact she's a bit of an enthusiast herself, and suggested that we have larger rear speakers, etc!!!

Unforntunately Craig, there's probably more to this than just the speakers.

Best of luck and hope it all works out

Now then.........to put a few things straight

IamBoy. Thanks for your interior decoration tips. A new oak dining table on the way, so no worries there. The chairs are mine, so back off :D

You have to see such things as an opportunity. Whilst I really like my B&W's, there's nothing like the thought of upgrading to get the pulse running.

And more to the point, there's nothing better than keeping the GF sweet over this kind of issues (it's cheap points, boys, you gotta learn) in order to maximise other ways of keeping my pulse running. High :MILD:

The best way to increase your sex life and hi-fi is to ask her to move out whilst buying the speakers you want :JPS:

    Hi Monkey

Knock yourself out, mate. I half-nicked it from someone else anyway, so I don't have any copyright over it !

Of course, you can also buy my speakers, if you so wish :MILD:

Well blow me - it woudl appear that I have managed to convince the missus that these are lovely speakers after all and they'll be staying for the time being.

I would go into detail about the sacrifice(s) I have had to make to keep them, but it would be unsuitable for a forum of this nature (he says, looking at the scantily clad hottie on the right hand side of the page )

So, I'm now a happy bunny in many ways

Thanks to all of you who made comments and what have you; always appreciated.

However, as well as the home-issues, at the end of the day I don't think I'm gonna get what I want for them anyway and it does not make sense to sell, esp. seeing as I v. much enjoy the sounds they make

Mods, feel free to close the thread

    Cheers, Craig
