    Hello there,

Anybody got any expereince of B+W DM 110 speakers?

I want something a bit better to replace my old mordaunt short ms20s. Would these (B+w) be better or not than ruark sceptres? The ruarks I think have a repuatation for being a bit "coloured".

To go with mission cdp +dac, naim 72/140/fc in a smallish room about 17'x12'.

    any thoughts?

    thanks!

    David

Brilliant speakers! Sound nicely warm and nice and have the ability to really surprise you with a big, musical and realistic sound (especially at higer levels). More full sounding, with a sweeter top-end than the MS20s. Don't know the Sceptres.

I had a pair of the larger DM220's a while back. I thought the treble was a bit scary, really fizzy on some music, not my cup of tea at all. Bass was nice and tight though.

My 220's were chocolate brown and quite hideous to behold, and to listen to IMO :(

I concur with the treble part, although that is amplifier dependant. My girlfriend uses the DM110i in her studio with a Cyrus One amplifier. They match very well.

I used the DM 220's with a Musical Fidelity B200.

I have to admit that I thought the 220's were really ugly so perhaps that influenced my decision to get shot of them very quickly (and I'd also bought a pair of Rogers Studio 1's around the same time ;) ), and the excitable treble put me off so TBH I probably didn't give them much of a chance.

Try some Van Den Hul Clearwater loudspeaker cables with these speakers, it's a good match.
