    Hi all,

music is something I love, but lately I just cant find the time to just sit and listen, the main reason being that I am doing a home computer course, which takes up a LOT of concentration.

Whenever i've tried in in the past, i've always found it difficult to study whilst listening to music. I am considering trying it again, and thinking of buying an iPod to use while studying. If it doesnt work, its not a great loss because i'll still use the iPod while running/exercising.

What im wondering is whether any of you guys have experienced the inability to study while listening at the same time? Is it just something you either can or cant do? Or could it be something which gets easier. Maybe previously I have given up too soon?

    What do you reckon folks?

Don't know about studing, been a while since I last did that, but music while I work is a must, I have my mp3 player going at work, not like anyone talks around here, I actually find it eaiser to work when there chatter or music (prefer radio) in the background, same at home, have the Net radio going. Its like working in a Morge in this office.

when I'm working I need silence - the music (no matter how low the volume) just takes over...this has always been the same...in my experience tho, it seems that women can listen to music whilst concentrating on coursework - no offence Ihatkins!!

even the tv is distracting for me....cars going down the street... ;)

thanks for the replies - yeah I can listen to music whilst working, as long as the work doesnt involve too much concentration, but if i'm trying to learn new things (studying) I find it difficult... or maybe its just the studying thats hard...

I'm gonna persevere with this. Think i'll try listening through my computer speakers first at low volume, see how that goes.

Does anybody else have any comments on this?
