What are the advantages/ disadvantages of using balanced connecters rather than rca.

Balanced is better for long ICs, as it "eliminates" noise, I also prefer XLR over RCA, it is easier to handle and appears to do better contact, not to mention that RCAs are usually cramped toguether, at least in AVs...

Sorry to be off topic a second, but I tried to post this on the now closed room acoustics thread...

Portugal sounds like a plan maybe next year :MILD:

Btw, I'm not Welsh, so Wales doing well doesn't really bother me. My parents are Italian and I was born in Scotland, so when it comes to sport, the two countries I'm interested in are Italy and Scotland. Portugal, particularly Lisbon, has fond memories for me as my favourite team Glasgow Celtic won the European Cup there (before my time admittedly) and only last year narrowly missed out on the Uefa Cup against Porto.

Did you bump into any 'mad' Celtic fans in your part of Portugal during the build up to the Uefa Cup final? :D

Not really, but apparently they behaved very well, unlike others some years ago... ;)

So if you decide to come, don't forget to give me a call...

António, I wouldn't post my phone number on the forum if I were you  Better to take it out and send it to Marco in a PM.

    Thanks Michael,

I have posted it in so many forums, and no problem so far, really, besides some harrassing what else can happen...

    Re: Antonio

But not before mine! Golden memories! I came in from a second-year university chemistry exam just in time to see the Inter guy put the ball on the penalty spot and go one-up. What happened afterwards was one of the most magnificent football spectacles I've ever seen - Celtic became a team with 10 forwards as they literally flung themselves at the Inter defence (which, in the Italian style of the time, all stood in the goalmouth to last out the game). It was exhilarating when Inter gave under the strain and Celtic lifted the cup.
