Which version of this (originall Frank Sinatra AFAIK) song is the one currently being used in the BBC Wimbledon Tennis promo?

I love it - and I'm sure I've heard it before, on the Kill Bill soundtrack I think...

btw, that BBC promo is excellent :)

I dunno as I don't got a telly (and can't stand tennis either), but the only versions I've heard were by Nancy rather han Frank Sinatra and (I think) Sonny and Cher.

Oh and quick flip to amazon tells us that if its the one on Kill Bill then its the lovely Nancy.

Surely a Cher original, covered by Nancy Sinatra?

I haven't seen the Wimbledon trailer. In fact I haven't watched TV at all this week (apart from about half of the Marx Brothers 'Animal Crackers' on DVD).

As with the others, I don't watch enough TV to have seen the trailer in question, though I did see an advert for a dance mix by the Audio Bullys that covers Nancy Sinatra's version, though I've not heard it bar the brief clips on the advert.

My brain is struggling to cope with the concept of ol' blue eyes covering 'Bang Bang'! Next up, Tony Bennett sings 'Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves'.

Its written by Sonny rather than Cher! I couldn't imagine Cher coming out with something like that!
Anyone got any recommendations for Nancy Albums? A friend had a Nancy and Lee Hazelwood album that was pretty good.

Boots. Its an absoloute sixties poptastic classic with great covers of Day Tripper, It Ain't Me Babe, Run For Your Life and As Tears Go By as well as Boots itself PLUS you get Nancy looking proper saucy in her sixties prime on the cover:

    sauce indeed.

Megadeth did a sterling, if perverse, cover of 'Boots'.

    Almost certainly this one:

I have it! (Sign of a misspent youth). "Elusive dreams" and "Some velvet morning" are worth the price alone.

There was a second LP, and I believe both are available on a single CD.

I occasionaly buy lots of LP's if there close by and my last lot included a Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood album, the imaginativly titled Nancy and Lee.
Lee has an ermm, unique voice. Rather like a slightly tunefull Lee Marvin!

Nah - those boots were made for walkin' ;)

I might just have to get this - is it still available from Sundazed? Can you get the Barbarella soundtrack anywhere these days?? (Seriously!?)

LOOk at them!! They weren't JUST made for walkin; ;)

They're both available on Amazon on CD. Can't see any current vinyl releases. the original Boots on vinyl comes upm fairly frequently on Ebay and isn't too pricey. That's where I got mine, for a fiver and its pretty minty.

The CD of Boots has some extra tracks on it though, including The City Never Sleeps at Night - which is a corker - Auntie has it on 7" (B side of Boots I think, but could be wrong).
