There's not many people who'll miss his flame surfacing.

The new 6 looks good but I miss the old 'brutal' shape of the e34 and e32.

I think his days have been numbered for a while now.
Overall, his output has been patchy at best - rubbish at worst (X3 and the forthcoming X1)

Looking forward to his replacement showing some real elegance.

Designed by Claus Luthe. Seems he came to a sad end.

I still have an E34; to me there's something very, very right about the shape and proportion of the body in every aspect:

I drive a 335i. Not very beautiful, but a great car.

    When did you move?

I drive either a Land Rover or a Lotus. I don't know Chris Bangle.

That photo suggests you should arrange your living room around the car? Very appropriate for BMW owners...

I think the new 3-series looks great. Just couldn't get into the shapes coming out of BMW over the last 5-years.

    The X6 looks seriously shit.

My neighbour sells BMW's and I laughed out loud a few years ago when he told me about the number of X3 customer that cancelled their orders on the Monday after Top Gear's review went to air.

Hallelujah! is all that I can say. I never liked his passion for putting odd creases in all the wrong places, taking a basically very elegant line of cars and completely ruining them aesthetically.

The 335i is in my shortlist of what to buy next. I'd be interested to know what it's like but free from the usual hyperbole you get in BMW comics.

It's an incredibly capable car. There's plenty of room for 4 adults and their luggage, with comfort. Ride is soft and supple, but when you come to a corner, everything firms up nicely. The engine is amazing: very smooth, nice exhaust sound, very good acceleration from any revs, and reasonable economy. 0-60 about 5 secs, 0-100 is around 12 seconds, 28 mpg. The brakes are superb.

    Just buy one.

See... in every single way i can think of... i prefer the previous E46 BMW. I prefer the exterior looks, and i prefer the fact that inside, it has almost the same dash layout as an E39 5 series, which is IMHO one of the classiest, and well laid out interiors BMW have made to date.

Within the next 6 months i plan to pick up either an E46 330i or an E39 530i. The newer BMW's just dont interest me. IN the current generation, I'd rather have a mercedes E class.

There's any number of cars available for the same money. A 645i isn't exactly my idea of fun -- it seems a little aesthetically and dynamically challenged, but if you like it and it meets your needs, then you know what to do.
