    Hi

I didn't see the news until late. I was DJing at an 80s bar when I saw something on the TV. At first I thought they were promoting a Barry White but it was in the news. As the sound was off I couldn't hear. It then dawned on me that he had died.

I have been a fan since the 70s. I was a kid when I first became aware of him. I always like his songs. The deep vocals & the big productions, his pop soul melodies made his records stand out from the normal soul records. As I got older, I bought more of his music, collecting most of his albums & singles.

As a DJ, his music has given 1000's of people many moments of enjoyment. His song "My first, My last, My everything" a Uk No. 1, is one of the most requested tunes at a big long running 70's disco that I do. Thinking about it now is reminding me of some of the people who have asked for this record & the reasons they have asked for it. It reminds me of my youth, It was the first song at our wedding, I made love to this song, are some of the reasons quoted.

As a lover of music, I do spare a thought to any artist or artists who has given me loads of pleasure over the years. Barry White is such a person.

    Barry White R.I.P.

"You see the trouble with me
    I can't do nuthin without my ba-by
And it's as plain as can be,
    She drives me cr-azy"

Top song. RIP to the Walrus of Love.

"I love you just the way you are" was the song played at my wedding.

    RIP - Big Bazza White

A unique voice, silenced too soon. Sad.

Yeah......like a tractor ploughing a magnesium field. Cool

Saw a repeat of an earlier interview on some BB1 programme this morning by chance. Quite sad really. His music really seems to come from within, if you know what i mean. It was simple, honest music with groove by a top 'reformed' bloke....and one of the most unique voices in living memory, that is way cool and smooth at the same time. :MILD:

    RIP indeed.
