I remember that a couple of years ago there were a lot of Belcanto amplifier users on this message board, has anybody tried their latest e-One Ref 1000's or e-One M300's?

    I've heard both the M300 and A1000s.
The first time I heard them, I compared the S300i and M300 to the A1000. They have basically the same "sonic signature" and style of presentation. The A1000 is simply better in every way. If you can afford the A1000, then yes it's worth doing.

The only negative point I could add is that I've also compared my existing Evo2i to the S300i. The new style kit has the edge on "hi-fi" bits, but simply doesn't have anything like the level of involvement. I much prefered my existing Evo2i, and despite having the funds to buy an A1000 setup, chose not to.

I've heard Ref 1000s and S300s. Both are fantastic amps. I switched from an S300 to a Cary A308 which has 2 of the Icepower 1000 modules (per the Refs) which I got for a great price. Agree with Mr Sukebe that the 1000s have similar sonic sig but are head and shoulders above the 300s.
