coops: Ever heard a really good LCR eq?

Can you tell me why LRC or RLC quadripole is better than RC passive filtering? I'm not into valves at all, can't be bothered with changing valves every few months.

Rob Hi, I can't not nearly technical enough, but the Allnic 1500 uses an LCR module ( hand wound by Mr Park ) and it remains the best phono I have heard, the small valves in a phono rarely if ever have to be changed.

    Hi Paul,

They have done four albums and been going since 1990. They have been on a number of labels and have a unreleased album from a abortive deal with Island records.

They have never been really big sellers but the Mercury award will give increased sales over the next few months or so.

Here is the band in action.

    a little off-topic!

I like one track on the album. I also liked one track on 'asleep in the back' aswell.

A superb album for about 5 minutes of that track then, IMHO.

    Coops.

The Allnic gear isn't too bad. I heard a preamp by them a month or so ago in Germany at a collegues house.... not bad. Not my kind of thing...though.
He got his direct from the manufacturer although he did say Germany 'sort of' has a distributor. I suppose like a lot of audio from the East, it's quite easy to do a deal with the manufacturer.

Perhaps it's a matter of opinion. My opinion is the same as the MMP judges, happily.

Paul, even an old stick like you could move with the times (Daddio).

Is it 'with the times' though? Anyway if it's cheap I may pick it up.

I seem to have developed a Grateful Dead thing recently. Having exhausted my stock I'll be browsing Amazon...

    Hi,

Benz carts work great with the Art Audio V1. I have the MM/MC version of it and having been using it for the past 4 years with the Glider, H2, and L2. It sounds better using the MC stage and lower output carts.

I'm thinking about a Whest 30R, but it's too big for my racks, sadly. I'll probably just stick with the PS.20.

Did I mention the LP's a great cartridge?
