I'm after some decent bi-wire cable for my new Epos M5. Anyone have any recommendations? I'm not one for brand names or anything, I just want the best quality possible for less than £10/m.

Something suitable for Epos speakers (fairly neutral speakers). And preferably flat cable (apparently its better?)

    Cheers chaps.

    Hi,

Well, in terms of value for money MY personal recommendation would be the original FFRC published (by me) on the TNT-Audio website.

For a little more outlay and admittedly a lot of work you can make your own pseudo nordost cable using 3M Type 3749 high density ribbon cable....

    Ciao T

    Hi Mr Cat,

yeah i've heard good things about Merlin cable too. I wonder if they do a bi-wire version of the C6? Or maybe I should just buy double the length. I can see this getting expensive!

hi, on one of the ads it states -
"Custom Lengths and Bi-wiring also available. Please contact us for details and prices "

however, it maybe just as good to buy (at least initially?) enough to replace the jumper connector on your speakers..?? I've done that and a lot of people agree that it's just as good as bi-wiring...tho, with my cable i just used bare wire - with the merlin being lfat I guess you'd need some kind of plug - e-mail the seller and see what he's got! :)

Note that some biwire cables are not suitable for bi-amping if that is an upgrade path you were thinking about.

One cable that is good for both bi-amp and bi-wiring is Linn K400, traditional thick multi-stranded copper, about £10/m new, sometimes seen 2nd hand. Nice even tonal balance and bass weight.

K400 is the same as Naim NACA5 I believe, again often available second hand. You might want to PM Zanash as well there's a man who knows his wires

Sure you want to bi-wire? (have you tried both already?)

On balance I generally like it less, but ymmv

Have you tried using the centre conductor of 75 ohm low loss aerial wire - does the trick for me
