Do you think this makes them a 'sit in more or less the same spot' speaker? Not necessarily in sweet spot terms but whether outside of this they sound particularly uneven.
The nature of the setup at home means that they need to sound decent from the sofa (around 3.5m away and fairly low) from sat at a table (more like 6m away and higher) and also generally chasing around the room after a toddler.

Get them right in one position and they'll sound more or less fine in most others. I listen from a variety of places and have the Wii hooked up as well. It all sounds good.

Having had the pleasure of a short listen to Joel's system, I can confirm that his speakers sound just fine everywhere, not just in the sweet spot. Off-axis response seems reasonable, if not quite as linear as on-axis.

Having said all that (thank you Markus for the kind words), if it was me and I was in the UK (and in a UK style room), I'd be looking out for a pair of Spendor SP100s. Actually, I'd just stump up the cash for a pair of M40s and be done with it.
