I have ummm-ed and arrgh-ed whether to bid, but the wife has put her foot down. Don't be put off by being Japanese, if you need efficiency these are. I heard them in the 70's, very out of fashion then being driven by a Japanese valve receiver (I think a Pioneer) they are very good and still out of fashion so should be cheap.

Don't know about the rest of you but the 15" in that speaker looks to be of the very good variety.

You've gotta love high efficiency woofers.

I'm sure he must have ended the auction early as he did say they were advertised elsewhere (where?). Wonder what the reserve was??

You can just tell those things have been treated like diamonds all their life. My ideal set-up would be something like those in a nice big room.

I had both those and the smaller pair he was selling on my "watch list" but forgot to bid due to work commitments.

He lives within easy driving distance of me.

I've been after a pair of the either Sansui SPs or Kenwood KLs for a while to replace the Pioneer CS-66 I have in the retro system I have in the flat I rent when working away from home.

Might make some interesting sounds with either of the SA-9500 or Spec-1/4 I picked up recently.
