As a teenager I had a crush on Debbie Harry without knowing Blondie's music. Today Debbie is - as she was then - too old for me, but I find that I like Autoamerican and Eat to the Beat. What are the universally recommended Blondie titles?

Don't feel bad - as a teenager (and only just a teenager - I might add), I had a crush on her and so did my Dad  When they were in the charts with Heart of Glass, I think it was my first teenage stirring so to speak - "Hmm - there's this strange looking woman on TOTP and I feel funny ... why's Dad growling like that ..."

Parallel Lines is the MUST have Blondie album - the best by a long shot in my opinion - no filler and includes Heart of Glass, Hanging on the Telephone, Picture This, Sunday Girl etc., closely followed by Plastic Letters - worth it for Denis Denis alone, not to mention the hilarious "I'm on E" - again, little or no filler - a worthy listen from start to finish - and joint second Eat to the Beat which you've got.

PS. Actually I think I was only 12 so not quite a teenager in fact

You must also get the first album - just entitled Blondie. No really well known hits like Parallel Lines etc but some great punky, 60's girl group type stuff. X Offender, Look Good In Blue....and the one that still gets me stirred at the ripe old of 42.......In The Flesh

    Rich - :D

Blondie are brillaint, I saw them live last week and they were amazing considering their age. Debbie is still on top form, and the crowd just went mad. I am only 21 and a lot of people took the piss, however I am glad I went, it was worth every penny.
