I'm with Ian - the only GOOD snow is the one you snort if you ask me...

Julian - nice photo :) Bummer about the coal though - do you want an Agfa CRAPscan e20 to burn??? Bloody thing STILL won't work....

It was snowy and bloody cold (-17 celsius  ) in New York when I was there a couple of weeks ago. Took this pic just before I left, it's the park right outside our NY office :)

Only had time for one piccy before my fingers started to turn blue...

Wow! That was some thunderstorm! What a blizzard! And it's 0 degrees here so it promptly froze on everything it touched :(

Having spent approximately 15 hours sat in a car today with temperatures as low as -4'c due to jackknifed vehicles in the snow, and ALSO being involved in accident of my own with another car...

I cant share any joy or rapture with this downright dangerous if not thoroughly lethal weather.

Very very very very pissed off

Especially with the 300 quid excess on my company car insurance policy..

Errm... They (the clever scientists, that is) suspect that global warming will move the path of the gulf stream, giving us russian style winters instead, so go steady with the CFC buddy.

Me, I love snow. It makes everything quiet, calm and cosy + it's so funny to see you brits 'coping' with it!!

Hey - that park view looks familiar - isn't that called Battery Park?:

It was a bit warmer there in April 1992...

The temp hear hasn't gotten above 1 degree since new year, but things still run on time and nobody notices any difference. The thing is this weather is expected here and therefore catered for. The cost of doing that in the UK for what amounts to a handful of days at worst is so prohibitive it not worth doing.

Current state of my back garden!

Nope, neither your pic nor mine is Battery Park. Battery Park is the park right on the Southern tip of Manhattan. Your pic I'm fairly sure is a pic of City Hall Park which is down by City Hall (obviously) which is where the Brooklyn Bridge entrance is.

My pic is of Madison Square Park which is above 23rd St. with Madison Av. to the east and 5th Av. and Broadway to the west (it's where 5th and Broadway meet).

Also, your pic was looking south to the World Trade Centre towers and mine is looking north to the Empire State Building.

    Nice pic though :)

    Snow, what snow? ;)

We've had nothing but a mixture of sun shine and (rain) showers down here in Devon for the past 2 days... Could well be a different story up on the moors I guess. The lawn in the back garden is still frozen over at the moment though, so it must be cold out there, despite the sunshine.

It would have been a LOT nicer if the films hadn't gone iffy during the holiday - they're very VERY washed out - I had to do a lot of tweaking to get that - and it's still a bit washed out.

All my negs up to 2002 got waxed in a flood too, so some of my WTC internal shots (from the tower WITHOUT the restaurant - 108 floors up) got lost forever, since the prints went years ago...

Not another one hoping to get snowed in and have a few days off work Lee? No snow here, and we're pretty high up, think Dunkeswell airfield is supposed to be the highest operational one above sea level in the country... no sign of anything. Couple of my colleagues at work live up near Glastonbury and they got a little bit, but were disappointed to be able to make it into work yesterday...

Yeah, the main road from Glastonbury to Wells was clear. Lots of minor roads were impassable though due to ice. Quite a few people turned up to work with tails of woe about their cars turning into sleds and so on.

The works car park was amazing. People were doing 360 degree spins :D

I've still got all my WTC negs. View shots from inside the restaurant, 108th floor and view shots from the top of the other tower (the open air, very top) and a bunch of other ones.

Here are two of my faves:

(I didn't link them directly to save a bit of bandwidth).

Nice pic. I agree, the problem for the UK is not the snow but the fact that the UK doesn't get enough of it, and it's not cold enough for long enough :) Here's a webcam of our town. I'm off to Beitostølen ski resort for my annual ski holiday with about 40 other Brits tomorrow morning - my SO organizes the flights, cabins, etc.
