bloody valve amps blowing up again

    no female influence on it all I promise.

    I was thinking about this again this morning. The sub is coming sometime this week, and it would be madness to change anything till I've heard it all working together.

    I then need to ask myself what I want more.. my living room back, or a giant pair of speakers!

    Sorry to hear you're having tube issues bottleneck. If you want a valvey sound and fit'n'forget reliability, you could do a lot worse then checking out Pathos. I have a Classic One MkII and it's very musical. All you would have to change is a pair of 6922's every 4000 hours. No biasing and only £30 a pair. Their TT-RR is also a stunner (6922 pre + 35wpc class A output section) and regularly goes for under £2.2k used.

    Sounds like the CJ may be over driving the 6550's. Maybe take the B+ down a bit and reset the bias.
